TNG 8, TNG 9 & TNG10 Create a Google Sitemap

This version is a Mod Manager .cfg file that allows you to install the Create Site Map file from inside Mod Manager. Note that it works with TNG 8, TNG 9 and TNG 10.

To use this, download the file and put it in your mods folder and then install it from the Mod Manager.

Once installed it places a button in Secondary Processes to click to “Create Site Map. This allows you to automatically create a Google sitemap.xml file to use to submit your TNG 9 site’s contents to Google.com for indexing.

Update 9.0.0.1 adds gzip compression to the generated index files, reducing their size significantly

This is a slight reworking of the file create by Rush for use with TNG 7 that is still available here

TNG 8 Google maps Update Place Levels

This add on, delivered in the form of a “Mod Manager” config file can be used to re-assign the place levels set for places “en masse” – for example if you’re using the TNG Google maps More Pins add on, or the Google maps 15 add on, and wish to change your place levels.

As of this 8.2.0 version, and for TNG 9 this “Update Place Levels” is no longer part of the TNG Google maps More Map Pins add on.

This mod makes use of the Mod Manager which as of TNG v8 is now built into TNG.

To install this, download the .zip file. Unzip it and upload the .cfg file into the “mods” folder in your TNG folder, then install it from the Mod Manager in TNG Admin.

It will:

  1. create 2 new files in your TNG folder
    • update_ChangePlaceLevels.php – a script which will make changes to your current place levels
    • update_ChangePlaceLevelsAuto.php – a script which will make changes to your current place levels

Once you have used this Mod to update your place levels, you can delete it from your site.

More details, including instructions on how to update your tng_places table to use the extra place levels can be found on the TNG Wiki on this page.

Set Cemetery Page with all Cemeteries Open TNG 8.1.2 ->

This Mod changes the default behaviour of TNG 8.1.2 and upwards from having all cemeteries in a County hidden when the page is first loaded to having them all showing when the page is first loaded – ie all of the disclosure triangles clicked open. See example here http://lisaandroger.com/genealogy/cemeteries.php

NOTE that this is for TNG 8.1.2 and higher, including TNG 9.x.x, TNG 10.x.x, TNG 11.x.x, TNG 12.x and TNG 13.x – if you have TNG 8.1.1 you need THIS FILE

Remove “Status Located” – TNG 8

This file, when run will go through the media table and remove the phrase “Status: Located” from all of the media items EXCEPT from those with mediatypeID=”headstones”.

To run it, put it in your TNG folder, and then go to

http://PathToYourTNGSite/update_RemoveStatusLocated.php

It wouldn’t hurt to have a backup of your tables before you do this 🙂

TNG Birthdays List

An add-on script for TNG that produces a list of birthdays from your database. It is configurable to look into the future a specified number of days (default is 0), to work based on the user’s local time, has configurable output and supports multiple languages.

Updated version now includes “Last Name Prefix” as part of the last name if you’re using that option in TNG. Thanks to Edward van der Maarel for letting me know this was missing.

Update 1.2 tidies up the code some, and corrects an issue where if the script was called directly (rather than embedded in a page) Living people would show in the list.

Update 1.3 is updated for TNG 8.x.x, including the new location of the language folders and to use single-quoted variables as most of TNG is now using. If you need the (now un-supported) version for TNG 7.x.x it is available from this link.

Be sure to read the Read Me file included in the download.
