    From Here A Name ....He was married on 21st November, 1879, at Ridgfoot, Benhar, to Jane King. The officiating minister was Rev. James Kirkland. Margaret King acted as bridesmaid and Samuel Houliston as best man. He lived at Te Houka on his father’s farm for some time, labouring on nearby farms, shearing, road-making and threshing with his own machine. Later he took over “Sunnyside”, Kakapuaka. He was a good farmer and a keen Romny sheep breeder. He once won a truck of lime awaded by the Milburn Lime Co. for the best Romney at the Balclutha Show. His wife, Jane, died at Sunnyside on November 12th, 1906. He continued to live there with his daughter Alice as housekeeper till his death on April 22nd, 1921.  [4
