Some Pictures of our Recent Trip to LA
to meet Jeff, Ruth and Sammie
on New Year's Day 2000

On 1 January 2000 Lisa and Roger flew to Los Angeles on a plane only one third full. Every one else hadn't booked as they were too scared to fly on the first day of the last year of the current millennium.

My sister Ruth, brother in law Jeff, and niece Samantha had arrived a few days earlier from New Zealand. Lisa and I picked up our Alamo rental car, and drove down to Anaheim to meet up with the Cobbs from New Zealand. Then we went a few miles to Orange to meet up with Lisa's cousin Mary, husband Michel, and their children Sammie and Mikey.

We went out toward the beach west of Orange, had yummy fish and chips at a restaurant overlooking a harbour, then on to the beach to play.

On 2 January we met Mike, Mary and kids in the morning and then took off in 2 cars to Hollywood. After walking along looking at some of the Stars on the footpath, and some forgettable lunch, we went up to the Griffin Observatory for a view over Los Angeles.

Then off to the Venice Beach for a look there at the various "sights and sites".
